@image /content/dam/pebblegodev/blog/thumbnail-feb-collections.png Black History Month, Women's History Month, and Money Collection thumbnails February is full of meaningful teaching moments, and we just released 10 new Capstone-Curated Collections in PebbleGo Educator Tools to support them. Each collection brings together curated articles, eBooks, and, in many cases, ready-to-use activity bundles to help educators move from exploration to application without adding extra prep time. Whether you are planning lessons, supporting independent learning, or prepping for a substitute, these collections are designed to be flexible and easy to use. @h6 What’s included in this month’s collections This month’s collections cover timely topics like Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Economics, Engineering, Money, and the Water Cycle, with options for both K–2 and 3–5 learners. Some collections include activity bundles with downloadable graphic organizers, while others focus on curated PebbleGo Next articles and eBooks that are perfect for discussion, reflection, and project-based learning. @h6 A closer look at Black History Month collections The Black History Month (K–2 and 3–5) collection includes articles, eBooks, and activity bundles that focus on influential figures such as Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Mary McLeod Bethune, Martin Luther King Jr., and Rosa Parks. These collections are designed to help students go beyond reading and into deeper understanding. For example: * Students can read about Harriet Tubman and then use the downloadable concept web from the activity plan to organize key facts about her life, leadership, and impact. * After learning about Frederick Douglass, students can use a graphic organizer to document major events in his life and put them in chronological order, helping them practice sequencing and historical thinking. * Teachers can assign an activity from the bundle for independent work or use it as a guided discussion tool during whole-group instruction. @h6 Using Women’s History Month collections in flexible ways The Women’s History Month (K–2 and 3–5) collections include curated PebbleGo Next articles and eBooks, such as Women’s Right to Vote and Malala Yousafzai. Educators might: * Read the Women’s Right to Vote article as a class and lead a discussion about why voting rights matter. * Have students use the Creation tool to build a simple show-and-tell project highlighting what they learned about a woman in history. * Encourage students to reflect on how these historical moments connect to their own lives today. @image /content/dam/pebblegodev/blog/feb-collections.png PebbleGo Collection thumbnails on a tablet with a magnifying glass @h6 Ideas for teachers, librarians, and sub planning Classroom teachers can use these collections to anchor lessons, support small groups, or provide meaningful independent work. Librarians and media specialists can use them during themed lessons, research time, or reading rotations, giving students choice while staying aligned to monthly topics. For sub planning, collections that include activity bundles are especially helpful. Substitute teachers can follow clear plans while students work with familiar PebbleGo or PebbleGo Next content, keeping learning on track even when plans change even if that substitute isn't familiar with PebbleGo. @h6 Whole-group and independent learning made easy These collections work well in many settings: * On one-to-one devices, students can explore articles and activities at their own pace. * On a projector or board, teachers can use the read-aloud feature for the class to listen together, pause for discussion, and model thinking. * At centers or stations, students can rotate through content tied to the same theme. @h6 Looking ahead This is the first of many releases. We will be adding 10 new Educator Tools collections each month over the next several months to support timely topics and classroom needs throughout the year.
