Tiger sharks are fish.
They are 14 feet

Tiger sharks have stripes
like a tiger. The stripes fade
as tiger sharks grow.

Habitat

Tiger sharks live in oceans.
They spend the day
in deep water.
At night they swim
into warm, shallow water
to hunt.

Food

Tiger sharks hunt sea snakes,
seals, squid, sea turtles,
and other sharks.
They even eat garbage
like cans and bottles.
Tiger sharks will eat
whatever they find.

Life Cycle

Female tiger sharks
give birth to between
10 and 80 pups at one time.
The pups live and grow
on their own.
Tiger sharks live
about 25 years.

  • The tiger shark's nickname
    is "wastebasket of the sea."
  • Tiger sharks use sharp,
    heart-shaped teeth to
    crack sea turtles' shells.
  • Tiger sharks are also
