As a first-generation American born to Puerto Rican and Cuban parents, I know what it’s like to navigate two languages and cultures. During my childhood, I didn’t have access to exceptional resources that are now available. Having the right tools to support language learning can really make all the difference for students. As a bilingual educator, I’m thrilled to have resources like Capstone's PebbleGo and eBooks available at my fingertips to support my students’ English language development.

Easily Translate Content

One of the features I love most about PebbleGo is the Spanish button. Being able to quickly switch between English and Spanish is a game-changer for my students. It makes it so much easier for them to understand new concepts and engage with the material. Plus, the content is high-interest and fun, which keeps them motivated and excited about learning.

Natural Voice Audio

Another feature that I find invaluable is the natural voice audio.  As an English language learner myself, I know how important it is to be able to listen to and repeat new vocabulary and phrases. The natural voice audio in Capstone’s products is engaging and fun, and my students love being able to listen to texts as many times as they need to fully understand the content. It’s a great way for them to build their comprehension skills and feel confident in their abilities.

Diverse Content

I also have to give a shoutout to the diverse content in Capstone’s resources.  As a person of color, it’s incredibly important to me that my students see themselves and their experiences reflected in what they’re learning. With Capstone, they get that and more.  They see people who look like them, speak like them, and come from similar backgrounds. For instance, the bilingual eBook My Name is Gabriela/Me llamo Gabriela by Monica Brown tells the inspiring story of Gabriela Mistral, a Hispanic immigrant who went on to become the first Latina to win the Nobel Peace Prize in literature. This book celebrates the richness of the Hispanic community and validates the unique perspectives and cultures of my students.

Capstone’s PebbleGo and eBooks have been a lifesaver in my bilingual classroom.  They’re engaging, fun, and incredibly valuable tools for supporting my students’ English language development. If you’re a bilingual educator looking for resources to help your students succeed, I highly recommend giving Capstone a try. Your students will thank you!
